Every meal at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen is meant to honor the memory of Dr. John and Blanche Ogle, who purchased 128 acres in Sevierville nearly a century ago. This popular restaurant is named after the five oak trees Ogles planted in celebration of the land purchase. The active couple raised four children in a farmhouse on the Parkway and were a vital presence in Sevierville. They were well known throughout the region for their hospitality. Now, that hospitality continues at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen.
Five Oaks’ central location makes it a convenient stop for a hearty breakfast or a satisfying dinner, but don’t expect a quick visit. Since it is so conveniently located, the restaurant tends to attract large crowds during peak meal periods. If you arrive during the dinner rush, you may be forced to wait nearly an hour before you score a table. As you wait, feel free to relax in a rocking chair on the large porch.
Inside, the space is visually impressive. It’s large, airy, and has a distinctive down-home country feel. You’ll see wagon wheels and other quaint decor every direction you look. If you’re lucky, you’ll score a spot near the large windows, several of which overlook a pond with a fountain.
Servings are generous, so you’ll definitely want to arrive hungry. Otherwise, expect to either leave half your meal on your plate or take home leftovers.
You won’t find craft beers at Five Oaks, but there are plenty of alcohol-free beverages available. Wet your whistle with coffee, iced tea, or soda, and you’ll receive free refills for the entirety of your visit. Other favorite beverages include squeezed orange juice or grapefruit juice, hot tea, and chocolate milk.

Pigs in a Poke
The fine folks at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen strongly believe in the power of a hearty breakfast to shape your entire day. To that end, they provide a variety of delicious morning meals, several of which feature their beloved griddle cakes. The Pigs in a Poke will arguably prompt the most cravings; it features pork sausage links wrapped in griddle cakes, served with syrup and butter. Your meal also includes two eggs, cooked exactly as you like them.
Cornbread Salad
Five Oaks Farm Kitchen isn’t exactly vegetarian-friendly — even most of the soups and salads contain meat. That being said, this meat-free dish will keep you satisfied. It includes fresh greens, red onions, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, pinto beans, shredded cheese, and yes, cornbread. The salad is served with a delightful house dressing.
Smokehouse Sampling
If you struggle to choose just one option from the smokehouse section of the menu, try it all with the Smokehouse Sampling. You’ll enjoy pork butt, pork spare ribs, and beef brisket, smoked to perfection. This generous serving of meat comes with your choice of two sides. Favorites include fried okra, mac and cheese, creamed corn, and fried green tomatoes.
Fried Chicken Livers
Five Oaks provide a delightful take on a classic Southern dish. Chicken livers might sound suspect to the uninitiated, but done right, they’re nothing short of amazing.
The Purple Cow
It’s virtually impossible to save room for dessert at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen, but if you somehow manage this feat, be sure to order the Purple Cow. The old-fashioned treat features vanilla ice cream served in grape soda — and topped with a generous portion of whipped cream and, of course, a cherry.
