Escape rooms are a unique type of attraction that has been popping up all across the United States, including in the active entertainment city of Pigeon Forge. Visitors here actually have several great escape rooms to choose from, but one that offers perhaps the best variety is the up-and-coming Smoky Mountains Escape Games.
Smoky Mountains Escape Rooms is located within The Shops of Pigeon Forge, a bustling shopping mall overlooking the West Prong Little Pigeon River. This business, as with other escape rooms, operates by having you choose from one of their listed adventures or escape rooms. Once chosen, you and your group are then “locked” within a room that has been decorated to match a set theme. Your goal is to use what you can find in the room to make your way out. This will generally involve searching around physical items for clues and putting together riddles or similar puzzles in order to solve a mystery and find the final thing that will let you escape the room.
What makes Smoky Mountains Escape Rooms stand out from the crowd is their variety of rooms and levels. Where some places will have maybe three escape rooms running at any given time, this location has a standard of five unique adventures for guests to choose from. You can also book all of their rooms to do just with your own group. This is a pretty significant distinction as some of the larger name escape rooms will require groups to mix with each other in order to meet certain minimum thresholds. Working with a strange group can be fun, but it can also be frustrating should they rush or otherwise not include your party in. Here, at Smoky Mountains Escape Rooms, you get to enjoy your own room with your own party to solve and spend time with.
Additionally, they have done something special for big groups and created what they call “Versus Mode”. This game is built to accommodate larger groups of up to fourteen people and features two identical rooms for which the group will be split up into two groups. The goal here is then not only to escape but which group can escape their room the fastest for a nice added bit of competition.
The currently most popular games running at Smoky Mountain Escape Games include:
Pirates Quest
Do you like puns? Is your Pigeon Forge vacationing group big on saucy humor? Then we just have to recommend booking Smoky Mountain Escape Game’s Pirate’s Quest room. This pirate-themed escape room is pretty difficult, but it’s quite a hilarious adventure as the room as you search for the location of private booty and solve the history of what happened to Captain Crapsalot and his Number Two.
The Haunting
If you like your adventures a bit more on the scary side, then choose instead this company’s The Haunting escape room. This themed haunted mansion room will prompt guests to determine whether the mansion is in fact haunted or not and, if it is haunted (spoiler, chances are good that it is), follow the clues to discover how to rid the ghosts and find your way out.
