When you’re on vacation, you may be tempted to hit a drive-through so you can get to the day’s activities quicker. But taking that route means you’ll miss out on a fantastic breakfast. With a ton of great places to enjoy breakfast in Sevierville, you’re certain to find an option that hits the spot with everyone.
Here are five of our favorites:
Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant
Hungry? Like really, really hungry? Then the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant is the place for you. With huge portions and extras like apple fritters and apple cinnamon muffins thrown in for good measure, you won’t leave hungry. Create your own Farmhouse Breakfast Special that includes a choice of seven types of meat, hash browns, grits, sausage gravy and biscuit, and cinnamon apples. Want something sweeter? The Banana Foster Waffle with bananas sauteed in butter, brown sugar and pecans is for you. The Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant stays busy so arrive early to avoid waiting.
Five Oaks Farm Kitchen
Delicious biscuits, an inviting atmosphere and attentive wait staff will make breakfast at Five Oaks Farm Kitchen a memorable event. Order a thick, ring-baked griddlecake and top it with warm maple syrup or warm chocolate gravy. Try one of the restaurant’s unique breakfast casseroles that combine eggs, meats and cheeses to create a hearty dish. And don’t miss the biscuits. They’re huge and especially delicious with homemade warm cherries jubilee topping. Don’t fret if there’s a wait. The pond and mill will keep the kids entertained for a bit.
Courthouse Donuts
There are plenty of places to get breakfast pastries in Sevierville, but there’s only one place where you can order a custom-designed donut. At Courthouse Donuts, you can select the flavor of icing, type of topping and the perfect sauce to finish it off. Combine the icings, toppings and sauces in any combination you like, or order a favorite from the menu. Try the Key Lime Pie flavor with vanilla icing, golden grahams, and key lime drizzle. The Peanut Butter Cup with chocolate icing and peanut butter sauce is one of our favs. Donuts are made to order so the entire experience is fun for the whole family.
Elvira’s Cafe
At Elvira’s Cafe, you can order a big, hearty meal or stick with lighter fare. Trust us, it’s all delicious. If you’re fueling up for the day, order the Mountain Man Omelet with sausage, bacon and ham, cheddar cheese, roasted red bell peppers, mushrooms, caramelized onions and topped with sausage gravy. It’ll definitely fill you up, and we think calling yourself a “mountain man” is sort of fun. For something a bit lighter, opt for one of Elvira’s buckwheat crepes. There are sweet and savory varieties on the menu. We’re particularly fond of the feta and spinach crepe.
Chubby’s Deli
If you’re looking for a quick bite before a day of hiking, Chubby’s Deli is sure to please. Yes, it’s attached to a gas station. Yes, it’s a bit of a greasy spoon. But locals love it and visitors are always glad to have found this unassuming breakfast spot. It’s affordable and the staff is friendly and welcoming. You won’t find anything fancy or unusual on the menu. But if biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches and all the traditional sides sound good to you, Chubby’s is the perfect spot for you.
