Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin is a beloved dining destination located in the heart of Pigeon Forge. It’s one of a few chains under the same name, all of which are well-known among locals and residents for offering a cozy atmosphere in which delicious homemade pancakes and other breakfast items are served.
Chef and restaurateur Brent Collier became inspired to create the Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin following a winter hike in backcountry Appalachia. He came across an opening in the woods where before him stood a beautiful old log cabin homestead that seemed to beckon with warmth and cheer. In the following year, he would set out to create a restaurant that offered that same type of feeling — and certainly, we believe he succeeded with Pigeon Forge’s Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin.
You’ll find this popular breakfast spot located right on the main Pigeon Forge thruway of US Highway 441. True to the brand’s inspiration, this restaurant is housed within a large log cabin-styled building with forest green roofing, a stone chimney, and plenty of surrounding parking. Inside, that log cabin feel continues on with full wooden flooring and walls comprised of large logs and exposed brick. There’s even a massive stone fireplace near the restaurant’s entryway and beside a corner stacked with cute and kitschy souvenirs. The interior dining area is plenty spacious with large wooden booths and short bench-style seating throughout. The warm lighting across all of these wooden structural materials and accents really gives a nice authentic log cabin vibe and overall cozy feel.
As you might expect from their name, Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin is very much a breakfast spot. They do have a good mix of lunch-oriented items, but because they close their doors promptly at one o’clock every afternoon, we would caution against planning for a lunch hour (maybe more of a brunch hour). They also do have their own dedicated kids’ menu which includes pretty sizable meals for children ages ten and under — all of which come with their own kids’ beverage.
When it comes to the adult menu, popular dishes at Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin in Pigeon Forge include:
Walkers Cabin Skillet
This is a fantastic choice if you’re going in with an empty stomach or otherwise really want to get a taste of all the best Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin. The Walkers Cabin Skillet is a large breakfast entree that features a skillet of hash browns that are topped with a split cathead biscuit and two eggs. All of this is either smothered in sausage gravy and shredded cheeses, or you can get that on a dish to the side to cover as you desire. You’ll also get your choice of bacon or sausage served on the side along with two pancakes. Like we said, this is a good one when you’re coming in with an appetite.
The Country Ham
Enjoy a true Southern breakfast? Then we have to recommend Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin’s The Country Ham breakfast meal that features a thick bone-in country ham steak served alongside three eggs prepared to your liking. You’ll also get a hash brown casserole, biscuit and gravy, and two fluffy pancakes.
Insider Tips:
-We might have used the word kitschy to describe the gift shop, but we mean that in a good way. This is a great place to pick up some cute bookend-style souvenirs that are just as much Pigeon Forge-focused as a restaurant brand. And if you still don’t see anything that tempts your fancy, walk just two stores over to the neighboring shop of Souvenir City which sells just what you’d expect!
-Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin is just as great for larger groups as it is for smaller parties. Their large interior dining space and massive kitchen can readily handle multiple large parties. But maybe you have something really big or more private in mind? No problem. This Pigeon Forge location offers ready breakfast catering that will be delivered straight to your cabin and at great rates as low as $12 per person depending on the breakfast package chosen.
