You truly haven’t experienced the magic of Pigeon Forge until you’ve spent the day at Dollywood. This local staple comes from the heart and imagination of the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton. And it’s precisely what you’d expect from such a legendary entertainer: exciting rides, spectacular live music, and southern hospitality for all.

If you’re looking for thrills and chills, it’s the rollercoasters that are calling your name. There are so many different types to choose from, too. The Dragonflier lets you feel what it’s like to soar through the air like its namesake. The Lightning Rod gets your heart pumping with a 165-foot drop and speeds of up to 73 miles per hour. And the Tennessee Tornado takes you on a series of loop-de-loops that’ll have you screaming with joy.

Between all that excitement, you can visit their many other rides, sample home-cooked goodness at various restaurants, and shop your heart out. Just don’t forget to catch a show or two while you’re there to hear local musicians play their jams live.

Wonderworks Pigeon Forge puts an exciting spin on the amusement park formula—It’s a topsy-turvy upside-down building with all the amusement park favorites indoors. Your visit starts with a trip through the inversion tunnel, and it just gets wackier from there.

It’s your choice where to start, and you have six wonder zones to choose from:

  • Extreme Weather Zone
  • Physical Challenge Zone
  • Space Discovery Zone
  • Light & Sound Zone
  • Imagination Lab
  • Wonder Art Gallery

Each zone is chockfull of exhilarating things to do, like becoming a human lightning rod, trying the astronaut training challenge, and playing a giant piano. There’s even a 4D XD Simulator Ride where you can hop onto the big screen for an adventure to remember.

If you work up an appetite, you don’t have to go far for a bite to eat because there’s a café right onsite. The Wonder Café offers pizza, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and more. They also have sugary treats like Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream if you need to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Do you have the need for speed? Be sure to stop by the FunStop Family Fun Action Park during your visit to Pigeon Forge. Their three go-kart tracks never fail to impress, taking you through twists and turns, ultra-fast straights, and extraordinary elevation changes.

If you want to get your feet off the ground, this park also has The Skyscraper rollercoaster. This ride zooms down the track at 60 miles per hour and reaches heights of 150 feet. At that height, you’re soaring even higher than the people on the nearby Slingshot Ride. This interesting attraction shoots you 120 feet into the air, allowing you to bounce up and down until the momentum stops.

The zipline is equally fun, although not nearly as fast as the other rides. This ride lets you take things at your own pace and enjoy the view all around. You’re welcome to race down the line if you wish, however. It’s up to you how you enjoy your visit.
