Horse stunts, pyrotechnics, and ostrich races; oh my! You’ll have a blast at the first area location to feature Dolly Parton’s signature show: In a classic North-South-style “battle,” you’ll engage in a friendly competition with your new friends (enemies?) on the other side of the audience.

What rain drops? You’ll forget all about the gray skies when you step inside WonderWorks, Pigeon Forge’s famously upside-down building. With everything from a psychedelic ropes course to hands-on science exhibits to laser tag, it’ll keep your family busy with hours of rainy-day fun.
Channel Your Inner Indiana Jones at The Tomb
You’re trapped in Pharaoh’s tomb! Don’t worry: Kids and kids at heart will love solving the series of interactive puzzles that present your only hope for escape from The Tomb. You’ll have a blast putting your brains and brawn to the test – and it’s entirely indoors. Teamwork required (in a good way).
Dive into a Short Stack (of Pancakes)
Go ahead, order the sugar ‘n spice pancakes with a side of crispy bacon (vacation calories don’t count – it’s been scientifically proven). You’ll love the hearty, generous portions of decadent breakfast food served at the Pancake Pantry (okay, so this one’s technically in Gatlinburg – but it’s too tasty to leave off the list).
Our tip? Get there early. The Pancake Pantry is a Gatlinburg institution, and the line will reflect that – especially as the day goes on.
Take a Hike
No, really: For the intrepid souls among you, we recommend pulling on your trustiest pair of hiking boots – and your anorak – and getting out there. You’ll have the trails to yourself, and the many waterfalls of the Smoky Mountains are even more dramatic in the rain. Choose a paved trail like Laurel Falls to avoid slippery footing.

Other good bets for indoor fun: see how your grits are made on a historical tour of the water-powered Old Mill, take in a phenomenal magic show, or catch another of Pigeon Forge’s many excellent shows (we like the goofy athletic battles of the Lumberjack Feud or the aerial banjo players of the Smoky Mountain Opry.)
