Trying to decide where to stop when you’re at The Village in Gatlinburg? If you’re craving a great late, cafe au lait or a scoop of a truly remarkable homemade ice cream, Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery has got you covered. This charming shop even looks cozy at first glance, with its steeply-pitched roof, shuttered windows, and cozy European-village feel. When you step in, you’ll be met by an ice cream cooler with a wide array of flavors ranging from the expected standards to off-the-beaten-path flavors that those with an adventurous palate will love to try.
A fully-equipped coffee bar serves up a variety of espresso drinks, both hot and iced, as well as hot chocolate and chai tea lattes. Expect patient, accommodating, and friendly employees who are more than willing to chat about the different menu items up for offer–and prices lower than you might expect from some mainstream coffee chains. This shop not only has delicious ice cream bites, but you can except items like Italian and egg salad sandwiches or a delicious buffalo chicken wrap.
Some of our favorite menu items at Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery include…
Lattes
Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery serves up top-notch lattes, hot and iced, with a truly impressive array of flavor offerings. You’ll find a huge assortment of Torani syrups available to flavor your drink. Opt for a steamer for kids–steamed milk flavored with a shot of Torani syrup, as well–and they’ll get to enjoy their own cozy, warming drink, minus the caffeine rush. Of course, the cafe offers cappuccinos, macchiatos, and other espresso drinks, as well, but their lattes are bestsellers for good reason.
Ice Cream
The varieties of ice cream on offer vary depending on what’s freshly made when you visit, but you can be sure that each option is top-notch: rich, creamy, decadent but not too sweet. Some visitors say Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery has the best ice cream in town–and we have to agree that it’s quite excellent.
Maddi Rolls
Custom rolled ice cream with a base of vanilla or chocolate. Add your mix of fruit from strawberry, and banana, to pineapple! Interested in adding some candy or cereal to the mix? You can top it off with delicious butterfingers, Nutella, cinnamon toast crunch, fruity pebbles, and more!
Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery is located in The Village Downtown Gatlinburg, a shopping center with plenty of parking and easy access to the rest of central Gatlinburg.
Insider Tips:
– Like most other shops in the Village, Maddi Mae’s Cafe & Creamery doesn’t open their doors until 10 am, so don’t plan to grab an early morning coffee here.
– Don’t hesitate to try the affogato (a scoop of ice cream with a shot of espresso poured over the top) with any of the creamery’s ice cream offerings. You won’t be disappointed.
