Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar brings seafood delights fresh from the ocean down into the heart of the Smoky Mountains. Whether you’re in the mood for lobster, shrimp or something else, there’s plenty of good selections on the menu. You can even choose from several high-grade beef options if you prefer food from land rather than water.
The menu at Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar heavily favors items sourced from the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf of Mexico. Maine lobsters, Maryland crabcakes, oysters, shrimp and fish are all usually on the menu, although exact selections can vary depending on what’s been caught and is available.
You can trust all of these seafood options to taste great, for they’re all fresh from the water. Even though Gatlinburg is many miles from any big body of water, catches are flown in daily to ensure maximum flavor and texture.
For a non-seafood option, turn to the Salads, Sandwiches or From the Land sections of the menu. The first two feature common salad options and a burger, and the latter has a good smattering of chicken and beef entrees. The beef entrees are particularly delicious New York Strip, Ribeye and Filet Mignon steaks.
Drink options include both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, the dessert menu isn’t to be missed. Although comparatively small, its pies, cheesecake and bread pudding are all rich, creamy and sweet like an after-meal treat ought to be.
Sometimes even when you’re far inland in the mountains, the urge for some seafood will call. When it does, bring everyone to Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar and eat as if the coast were only a few minutes away.
A few of our menu favorites at Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar include:
Oysters on the 1/2 Shell
The Oysters on the 1/2 Shell put the “raw” in Chesapeake’s Seafood and Raw Bar. Seasonally available when fresh oysters can be sourced, these are just as you’d find near the ocean.
Steamed Seafood Feast
How do you improve a fresh Maine lobster? Surround it with mussels, Maryland spiced shrimp, clams and oysters, and steam everything to perfection. A true feast for the captain or admiral.
Fresh Maryland Crab Cakes
Perhaps Maryland’s most famous food, you don’t need to actually be in the state to enjoy a fine crab cake. The Fresh Maryland Crab Cakes are made from fresh blue crab and baked to perfection. Then, they’re served with a side of tartar and cream coleslaw — just the way they should be.
Bacon & Cheddar Grits
It’s not often that a restaurant’s side made a menu favorite, but it’s also not often that grits are this good. Cooked to perfection in Southern-style, bacon and cheddar cheese only add to how tasty these grits are. You can burn off the calories later.
Bloody Mary Bar
An off-menu favorite that’s only available during Sunday Brunch, the Bloody Mary Bar lets you customize the morning cocktail to your precise liking. Choose a favorite spirit (or few), and drink up.
Insider Tip:
If possible, try to come on a nice weather day. There’s a patio with outdoor seating, which somehow makes cracking a lobster shell or slurping an oyster even better.
