Christmas time is here! Christmas is great for many reasons, but there’s something so special about spending the holidays in the mountains for a special getaway. Whether you’re a fan of the season and snow or ice covering the streets and mountaintops or you’re a big fan of the Christmas lights and events going on in the area, then it’s time to start finding the right cabin for you and get started on planning your Smoky Mountain Christmas vacation!
Gatlinburg vs Pigeon Forge or Sevierville?
Luckily for us, the Smoky Mountains have a few different locations to choose from like Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville. Each boasts its own attractions, dining, mountain views, and cabins! Gatlinburg cabins are great if you are trying to stay close to the main city and strip where attractions like Anakeesta and Ober Gatlinburg where outdoor snow opportunities are found.
Pigeon Forge is great if shops and dining are more of your vibe and you don’t care much for the outdoor scenery and activities like Ober and Anakeesta offer. Pigeon Forge still offers up cabins with incredible views, some secluded, and many nearby the Island and Dollywood. Dollywood has its own sort of magical Christmas flair that it offers. Sevierville is definitely for those who want seclusion but nice houses with expansive views and plenty of amenities like game rooms and movie theaters.
We love each city for its respective differences, but it all depends on what kind of vacation you are looking for this Christmas!
