The storefront looks deceptively small from the parking lot. This is a coffee shop (obviously). And the coffees are very, very good. But the avocado toast is so excellent that visitors rave about it long after they’ve left. Something about the quality of the toast, the seasoning, and the flavor combinations make it some of the best avocado toast that we’ve ever tasted. There’s a reason it’s one of the most popular items on the menu (after the coffee), and that probably won’t change anytime soon.
Sandwiches
The exact sandwich menu varies depending on what’s in season and what’s in stock on a given week, but the sandwiches at Hatchet always feature fresh ingredients in fabulous combinations that satisfy and nourish at the same time. Local ingredients are used whenever possible–and they also use local Stick Boy Bread Company bread for their sandwiches, making them a step above the rest.
Smoothies
Looking for something fruity, light, and nourishing? Hatchet’s fresh fruit smoothies are seriously underrated menu items. They use top-quality, fresh ingredients to craft each smoothie, and each one boasts incredible flavor while also being surprisingly satisfying.

Hatchet Coffee Roasters is located just off Bamboo Rd. east of central Boone. It’s just a few minutes off Hwy. 421 S., making it an easy stop whether you’re passing through town on the way to the Blue Ridge Mountains or exploring the town of Boone for the day.
