Izzy’s Coffee Den doesn’t discriminate among drink preferences, offering a selection of coffees, beers, wines and teas to meet all tastes. These are all served up alongside house-made baked goods in hip place that itself seems like a work of art.
Coffee is the namesake beverage here, and Izzy’s Coffee Den delivers on that name. There are usually two hot drip coffees being brewed, and these are complemented by a host of other options. From cold-brew and blended drinks to classic espresso-based lattes and mochas, the menu features all the coffee shop classics.
The specifically adult drink menu features a decent array of beers and wines. The number of each that’s available isn’t going to win any awards, but there are enough options to suit different tastes if someone in your party wants a more relaxing beverage.
Tea options also aren’t overly numerous, but all the standards are covered. Black and green options provide a slight caffeine boost, while non-caffeine herbal options serve as an alternative if you’d prefer to avoid the stimulant.
For food, the selections are small and likely seem pricey. They shouldn’t be skipped, however, for the baked goods are made in-house from scratch. Pay a little extra for one, and your tastebuds will thank you.
With stringed lights overhead and local artwork on the walls, Izzy’s Coffee Den is a funky coffee shop that serves up good coffee and great baked goods. It’s the perfect place to refuel and see what the community is like.
A few of our menu favorites at Izzy’s Coffee Den include:
Frozen Fix
A frozen, blended mocha beverage infused with two shots of espresso. Delicious and energizing all in one.
Mimosa
What better place is there to have this brunch staple than at a coffee den? It’s past 5:00 a.m., after all.
Coffee to Stay
If you’re planning on reading a book or doing some work on a computer, Coffee to Stay is one of the best values that you’ll find at any coffee shop. The first cup is $1.50 and each refill thereafter costs only 75 cents. Have a few cups for what it’d cost to get a single one at some other places.
Crackers and Cheese
Yes, the Crackers and Cheese is a simple snack. Yes, it’s also a scrumptious one thanks to the variety of carefully selected cheeses and the house-made crackers. This is definitely the perfect pairing for a glass of wine, and it’s a good complement to just about everything else as well.
Carrot, Apple and Banana Bread
All of the house-made pastries are delectable, but the Carrot, Apple and Banana Bread especially stands out. Take a bite and see for yourself whether you can tell that this is vegan and gluten-free.
Insider Tips:
– Street parking is ample during winter, but spots are sometimes taken up during the warmer months. If no street spots are readily available, there’s a paid lot across the street that’s still affordable (although not as cheap as meters).
– If you see any artwork that you like and want to take home, just ask the barista how to purchase it. You may have to contact the artist directly, but everything is by local artists and available for purchase.
