Homegrown brings slow-food dishes to a fast-paced world where people can’t wait long to get a meal. The eatery’s menu is full of locally sourced, fresh and healthy options, and all of these can be ordered quickly when you’re on the go.

According to Homegrown, the slow food movement emphasizes locally sourced foods. Using food from the area naturally lends to freshly made menu items, and that’s what you’ll find here. Of course, many of the offerings are classic Southern dishes that Asheville residents have been enjoying for a long time.

Breakfast options run the gamut from Pancakes and a French Toast Casserole to an Open-Face Fried Chicken Biscuit and Huevos Rancheros. There’s also various scrambled eggs, breakfast tacos, a salad option and breakfast sandwiches.

Lunch and dinner options are comparably diverse and include soups, salads, sandwiches, small plates and entrees. There also are a few desserts to choose from, and most items — including all but a few of the entrees — are less than $10.

When available, the brunch menu offers a good combination of the lunch and breakfast offerings along with a few spruced-up variations. For example, there’s a Catfish PoBoy that’s not available other days of the week. Beverage options consist of coffees, teas, milk, juices, sodas and mimosas.

With a wide variety of menu items, reasonable prices and prompt service, this is a good place to bring the whole gang. You’ll find something for everyone in your party no matter how diverse people’s preferences are, and the meal won’t break the budget or take the entire day.

A few of our menu favorites at Homegrown include:

French Toast Casserole
A casserole version of the breakfast classic, this comes with seasonal fruit compote and mascarpone cream. While real maple syrup is available, you won’t be wanting it with this combination.

Sunshine Bowl
For a healthier breakfast that tastes just as good, the Sunshine Bowl comes with two eggs and your choice of meat over a bed of greens and quinoa. Pickled onions, mushrooms and a couple of sauces round out the medley of flavors and textures to create a truly intriguing salad.

Breakfast Pot Pie
A morning take on the classic pot pie, this one comes filled with cheesy grits, scrambled eggs and sausage gravy. A biscuit sits on top so you can soak up all the gooey goodness.
Redneck Pot Pie

Redneck Pot Pie
An afternoon version of the Breakfast Pot Pie, the Redneck Pot Pie subs out the scrambled eggs and gravy for barbecue chicken. There’s still cheesy grits and a biscuit top, making this a killer combination. Try each pie, and decide for yourself which one is best.

House-Made Corned Beef Hash
The House-Made Corned Beef Hash is hearty and delicious. Get it with onions, peppers, taters and two eggs, and you won’t be hungry for quite some time.

Insider Tip:
While there’s ample off-street parking available, the parking lot can be tight to navigate. Cars will have no problem getting into a spot, but full-size SUVs might find some of the corners tight. You certainly don’t want to be towing a trailer when you visit.
